

Glen Blair Dewar, 93, died peacefully at the Villa St. Joseph on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Born on April 1, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Crombie) Dewar. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was a faithful employee of the American Bridge Company and later the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis, a member of the Baden-Economy School Board, a volunteer with the Economy Fire Department, and president of the Economy Youth Athletic Association, where he served as an umpire for many years. He was also a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Economy, where he served on council, until its closing, followed by Rehoboth Evangelical Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Velma (Barto) Dewar; sisters Dorothy (Jack) Lester, Betty (William) Droz, and twin brother Jack (Ginny) Dewar.
He is survived by his six children: Beverly Dewar, John (Diane) Dewar, Kathy Dewar, Karen (Courtney) Wilson, Lori (Tim) Guthrie, and Bob (Marie) Dewar; his eight grandchildren: Ginny (Adam) Jones, Chris (Christy) Dewar, Becky (Jeremy) Scharl, Andy Dewar, Blaire (Ryan) Lasko, Nick Dewar, Ben Dewar, and Elizabeth (Nick) French; and his eight great-grandchildren: Jocelyn and Delaney Jones, Anna, Audra, and Ayla Dewar, Hattie and Crosby Scharl, and Rory Lasko.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 26, from 9:30-11 am at Rehoboth Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2800 Conway Wallrose Road, Baden, PA 15005, followed by a funeral service at 11. Private interment will be at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to your local food bank. Arrangements entrusted to the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
