Helen M Reed

Birmingham, AL daughter of the late Harlie Mae Belvin McFarland and William Ullman

McFarland she resided in PA for the past 62 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Luther Bearl Reed of 66 years, a sister, Dorothy

McFarland of Birmingham AL, a brother Malcom and a sister in law Gloria Mcfarland of

Montevallo AL, and her cousin Carol Belvin Batson of Jemison AL, and her beloved dog, Molly.

She leaves behind her devoted children Joseph B. Reed, and the late Amanda Dyke Reed of

Monaca PA, Michael D. Reed and Annmarie Patrizi Reed of Center Township, Mary K Reed

Cary and Joseph Cary of Hopewell Township. Her grandchildren Kevin and Cassie Reed of

Uniontown, OH, CJ and Marrisa Reed of Newark, DE, Gino Cary of Hopewell Township, and

Emilee Cary of Hopewell Township. Her cousin Tom Belvin of Brownsville, Maine. Also a great

granddaughter Violette Reed of Newark, DE. .

Two nieces and nephews Malorie and Dennis Draper of Montevallo, AL and Judy and Mike

Nuss of Montgomery, AL. Great nephews Patrick, Andrew, Forrest and Caleb Draper, Benjamin

Nuss and Lauren Jones. And many other loving great great nieces and nephews.

She was involved in the following activities: Cub Scouts where she was one of the first women

to receive a district award of merit. Girl scouts where she was a leader for many years teaching

the girls about outdoor abilities. One of the first to help set up the library at Kane Road School.

She was also involved in the Hopewell band as treasurer for 2 years and helped fight for a band

booth during football season. She was honored by the PTA. She was also a den leader, coach,

Cub Scout commissioner for pack 486. She also delivered meals on wheels.
