8th, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born on September 29th, 1947, at
Allegheny General Hospital.
James was a graduate of Hopewell High School class of 1965 and went to the
Community College of Beaver County for Welding. Following his education, he worked
at St. Joe Led in Monaca, PA as a Transportation Operator. Jim met Elsie at the ABC
Drive In in 1965 and later married his wife of 56 years on July 29th, 1967.
He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother (Arthur and Lois Mckinney) his
Mother and Father-in-Law (Bill and Tessie Johnson) his brother Fred Mckinney, brothers
in law Leonard McGaffic, and Hollie Williams.
He is survived by his wife Elsie Mckinney (Johnson), children Karie Szuchy (Greg),
Donna Hartzell (David) and a loving grandfather of Mackenzie Casasanta (Nicholas),
Kaylie Szuchy, Austin Hartman (Rebecca), Gregory Szuchy, Kacie Courtney (Chase),
Great Grandfather to Geno Casasanta (Mackenzie) and Charlotte Courtney (Kacie),
brother Donald Mckinney (Susan), and sisters in law Lois McGaffic, Virginia Williams
and several nieces and nephews.
Jim enjoyed going to car cruises with his wife in their classic cars, keeping his cars in
pristine condition, listening to the police scanner and cutting his grass.
Jim loved his time with his family at Geneva on the Lake. Jim had a servant heart and
was always kind, generous and willing to help anyone in need.
The family would like to thank the First Responders, Raccoon Township and neighboring
fire departments as well as the staff at Heritage Valley Beaver Medical Center and
Allegheny General Hospital for his care.
As per Jims request, a private viewing will be held for his immediate family at
Saul-Gabauer Funeral home in Rochester, PA followed by a burial in God's Garden at
Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Wounded Warriors in
memory of James Mckinney as Jim often donated to First Responder and Military Organizations
