Jane D. Elder

Jane D. Elder, 79, of Chippewa Township, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2015, under the compassionate care of Family Hospice and her beloved children. Jane was born December 3, 1935 in New Brighton, the daughter of the late Peter Duff Riddel and Helen (Rushton) Riddel.. She graduated New Brighton High School in 1953, as an honor student and drum major.

Jane was employed by Armstrong Cork Company where she would drive her original 1955 Ford Thunderbird to work. She was married to the late Harry Curtis Elder, Jr, of Beaver Falls

and they had three children.

Jane enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling with her family. She was a devout Christian and has attended the Christian Assembly in Industry, PA.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Leigh and Tracy Minto, Greenville, NC: her sons: Harry C Elder III and Dawn Ryan, Sterling VA; and Eric Elder, Beaver Falls. Her grandchildren: Morgan and Milan Minto, Emily and Sarah Elder; and her brother: Robert D. Riddel, Mesa AZ.

Friends will be received today from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A private family service will be held prior to her internment. On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com.
