Kathleen Irene Kennedy

Kathleen Irene Kennedy, 48, of Chippewa Township, passed unexpectedly May 5, 2015 at her residence. She was born October 25, 1966 in New Brighton, daughter of Gary Kennedy, Chippewa Township and the late Barbara (Sheets) Kennedy. She was a naturally bright and gifted woman but extremely humble about her talents. Following her education at Penn State Beaver and Robert Morris University, Kathleen began a rewarding career that eventually led her into the software industry as a computer analyst. She was fortunate to acquire a well-established business that afforded her eventual ownership. Kathleen further developed KIK Consulting that provided computer consulting services to the Nashville Public School District.

Family was most important to Kathleen. She thoroughly enjoyed the relationships she nurtured with her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. During the holidays she lovingly provided her family members with a decorative basketful of delightfully delicious cookies. She always added thoughtful creative touches to every special little craft she shared with them. Whether it was a Mason jar full of doggie treats, or a sweater for the cat, Kathleen’s caring hand was always noticed and appreciated. After the passing of her mom in 2011, she lovingly and faithfully shared Friday night dinners with dad.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother: Barbara (Sheets) Kennedy; maternal grandfather: Darrell Sheets; paternal grandparents: Arthur and Irene Kennedy; and uncle Robert and aunt Dorothy Kennedy.

She is survived by her father: Gary Frank Kennedy, Chippewa Township; maternal grandmother: Rose Sheets, Daugherty Township; two brothers: Kenneth Kennedy, Romulus, MI; Scott (Lora Edmonds) Kennedy, Chippewa Township; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Roxanne (John) Larson, West Mayfield Borough; Suzanne (Charles) Jewell, New Castle; nieces and nephews: John and Katie Larson; James Larson; Joshua (Alaina Petrillo) Larson; Rachel Larson; Sarah and Mike Madden; C.J. Jewell; Mikaylah Jewell; D’Marien Jewell; Blair Kennedy; Anika (Kegan McCabe) Kennedy; two great nieces and a nephew: Monica Larson; Esther Madden and Leon Kennedy-Mauk; her aunts and uncles: Glenda and Richard Gearhart; Beverly Galupi; Darrell and Sharon Sheets; Cris and Cathy Sheets; Emily and Larry Lapping; Rebecca and James Smedley; Richard Sheets; many cousins and extended family.

Friends will be received Friday, May 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the funeral home. Private interment will follow.
