Kathryn E. (Young) Gumpf, age 95, a lifelong resident of Chippewa Township, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Covington Skilled Nursing, in East Palestine, Ohio. Born July 22, 1930, in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Leona (Edwards) Young.
Kathryn loved quilting in her spare time as well as traveling. She and her late husband, Thomas, spent many winters in Florida. She loved cooking, and she would feed you whether you were hungry or not. Most of all she loved being surrounded by her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Thomas S. Gumpf (2022), and a sister; Donna Field.
She is survived by a daughter; Terri (David) Farr, two sons; Robert (Lisa) and Ronald (Erin) Gumpf, two stepsons; Thomas and Timothy Gumpf, eleven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Ronald (Dorothy) Young.
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 1pm until the time of funeral services at 3pm at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
