Michael Dengel III passed peacefully at home on Friday February 7, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family and fur babies. Michael was born March 18, 1950 and in those almost 75 years made his mark on those who knew him. He had a long and extensive career that spanned from being a paperboy at the age of 11 for the Beaver County Times all the way to Field Engineering Vice President of Citizens Bank. His work ethic however was just the tip of the iceberg for those who knew him deep at heart.
Mike or Mr. “D” was a servant to the people. He loved his community and was involved in his local church activities, stepping in and assisting with multiple charitable functions, however his real passion was managing Meals on Wheels for Beaver County for many years. He was also a Beaver County Intermediate Unit substitute teacher. Michael served in the PA. National Guard and Air Force Reserve: Rank Staff Sergeant with Ribbons including the Air Force Ribbon and Marksmanship Ribbon as well as the Commendable Service Award. This man, who wore a suite and tie knew how to get his hands dirty and enjoyed it. He turned up quietly and left even quieter- the people in life mattered and he was there for them.
The most important thing to Mike was his family. He took the role of Family Patriarch very seriously and tried to provide the best- He was a fixer of sump-pumps, a lender of cars, a giver of time and a lender of ears. He walked quietly through the door, most not knowing when he showed up or left, but that he was just always there. He was the answerer of questions and a solver of problems. He was a man of few words but a lover of conversations. He was hungry for knowledge and an educator of all sorts. He was a pincher of toes and not prone to overly big displays of affection but could wear his daughter’s lipstick on his cheek with pride.
Michael was preceded in death by his loving family of Patricia Dengel (wife), Bernadine Dengel (Mother) Michael Dengel Jr. (Father), Samantha Rae VonDengel Dufus and Holly (his beloved fur babies). He is survived by his wife Diana Dengel, his 3 Fur Babies, Brinley, SuzieQ and Gina. His 3 Daughters Heather Butcher, Michelle Dengel and Nicholle Dengel Lucas (David Lucas) and his multiple grandchildren: Patricia Butcher, Clay Dengel, Connor Lucas, Briar Lucas, Brandon Lucas (Kelsey), his two sisters Carol Palmer and Joyce Grimes (Dennis) and Niece’s, Lisa Stacho (John), Kristina White (KY) Emily Cunningham (KY), and Great Niece Kellee Hunt.
To the Man, The Myth, The Legend we say goodnight and well done our loving and faithful servant.
