

Paula was born September 10, 1930, in Rochester, PA, to the late Anthony and Alta Vodenichar. She was a Rochester High School graduate and retired in 1992 after 27 years with Mine Safety Appliances in Callery, PA. She was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Lutheran Church.
She had a passion for sewing, ceramics, crocheting and counted cross stitch. Her children and grandchildren benefited from her generosity of gifting her wonderful works to them. She also enjoyed music and loved to sing. Among many of the records she collected was her favorite artist, Perry Como.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl (Blackie) Evans, a son; Dennis Evans, three brothers; Willis, Anthony and Dale Vodenichar, four sisters; Dorothy Pfaff, Alta Musgrave, Jean Slingluff and Marjorie Young.
She is survived by four children; Donna Buchanan, Collierville, TN, Gary Evans, Cranberry Twp., Nancy Gerster, Conway, and Pamela Oberle, Zelienople, two sisters; Nancy Knight, and Carol Flickinger, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arrangement for cremation handled by the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. A memorial service will held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Oak Grove Lutheran Church, 432 Hawkins Mill Road, Zelienople, PA 16063. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Stephen Slepecki.
