

Robert had been living in and Assisted Living Facility/Memory Care (Pendleton Manor, SC) since October 2020. He was diagnosed with Dementia in 2011.
Bob was born September 26, 1934 in Pinebank, PA., a son of the late Stanley and Leota (Rush) Lapping. He worked 34 years at Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in Beaver Falls. He also worked as a mechanic for TedMar Auto Sales and dispatcher for McCall’s after his retirement to keep himself busy.
He loved hunting, fishing and camping with his friends. Bob was also a member of the Beaver County Horseshoe Pitcher’s Association and a member of the Horseshoe Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the New Brighton Eagles, Beaver Falls SOI and West Mayfield Vets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Rita Tedro and his wife of 53 years Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Lapping.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Emily Lapping, Horseshoe, NC, a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim Shipley, Mentor, Ohio; and four grandchildren: Shawn Lapping, Holly (Ricky) Farlow, Stephanie and Nicole Shipley and (5) great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8pm, and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18th at 11:00am at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). www.saul-gabauer.com
