Ron, known for being a loving and caring father and grandfather, was a very loved man by not only his family but his community. Ron loved children even if he didn't know their parents, he'd light up at the sound of a child's laugh or the sight of children playing. He will always be remembered for being the type of man to help anyone in need. Many of our family's memories will be of the annual corn roast hosted on his property that everyone looked forward to all year long.
He was born on November 11, 1947 to the late Frederick H. and Mildred L. (Durr) Ruckert. He was an Army veteran, where he served as E-5 Military Police. After his honorable discharge, he served his community as a New Sewickley Twp. police officer. Ron was a retired steel fitter from Littell Steel Co. He was a very active member and Council Officer of New Hope Evangelical Church, Economy, where he sang in the choir and served as a member of the Property and Music/Worship Committees. Ron loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing with his Littell Steel group. He especially loved spending time with his family and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and other activities. He adored his great-grandchildren who always made his day and he couldn't stop talking about them.
