
With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Ruth Irene Cooper, at the age of 74, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. The doors of heaven opened wide for her as she heard the Lord say, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
She was born July 5, 1940 in New Brighton, daughter of the late Lester and Evelyn (Schaeffer) Cooper. Ruth was a graduate of Freedom High School and the Garfield Business School, Beaver Falls.
For many years, Ruth was employed at Hanks Custard Stand, New Brighton. She also retired after 38 years with Cutler Hammer, formerly Westinghouse, Beaver.
Ruth was a former member of the Bridgewater Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Love and service for her Lord was most important to Ruth. She was a faithful Christian woman, and active member of the New Sewickley Presbyterian Church.
Ruth will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by: her brothers and sisters-in-law: Chester (Patty) Cooper, Rochester; K. James (Phyllis) Cooper, Ohio; John (Linda) Hohla, Aliquippa; George (Nancy) Hohla, Aliquippa; Gerald (Margie) Cooper, New York; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Barbara (Ernest) Inman, New Brighton; Cindy (Steve) Matkin, Brighton Township; Sandy (John) Janicki, Beaver Falls; Linda (Ken) Alexander, New Brighton; also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew: Gary Lee Cooper, September 30, 2012.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m., October 1, 2014 in the Funeral Home.
