The sweetest mother entered heaven leaving us to mourn, Veeda B. Beatty, age 98, of Freedom, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Veeda was born May 13, 1923 in Rochester Pa to the late John and Clara Portman.
She was the loving mother of William "Bill" (Marianne) Beatty, Patricia "Pat" (Jack) Boyde, Kathy (Mark) Moran, Deborah (Mike) Evans and her canine kid Quincy.
If you asked a hundred people who Veeda was, her grandchildren may tell you a different story. She was a devoted grandmother of 13, (great) grandma guy to 28.
She will always be remembered for being at the "BUTT END" of her grandchildren's jokes. She had an extraordinary heart, wonderful smile, infectious laugh and a compassionate spirit. She was the culinary genius to her famous "Graham Cracker Cream Pie"
Veeda is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She was a lifetime member of the Unionville Methodist Church where she volunteered during special events.
Friends are welcomed at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home 273 Route 68 Rochester, PA 15074 on Saturday October 30, 2021 from 1PM to 4PM and 5:30 to 6PM. A service will take place at 6PM at the funeral home.
