William E. “Bill” Tyson, 79, of North Sewickley Township, passed on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 while under the care of the staff at Heritage Valley Hospital, Beaver. He was born December 29, 1933 in Beaver Falls, son of the late James and Della (Mendenhall) Tyson.
He was a conscientious and hard working man. Bill was a retired welder with over 28 years of employment at Beaver Valley Alloy Foundry; and also with 13 years as a custodian at the Riverside School District, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three brothers: Samuel, Robert and Thomas Tyson; brothers-in-law: Donald Newman and Elmer Cumberledge and sister-in-law: Mary Newman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years: Olive (Newman) Tyson; one son: William E. Tyson, III, Kissimmee, FL; two daughters and sons-in-law: Roberta “Bobbi” and Gary New, Erie, PA; Linda and Mark Loescher, Galion, OH; stepdaughter: Amy Yates and her husband Rowdy, Waco, TX; seven grandchildren: Chris, Karri, Kelly, Kim, Michael, Mya and Kylee; nine great grandchildren; his sister: Jessie Cumberledge, New Brighton; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Raymond Tyson, New Brighton; Daniel (Susan) Tyson of Wampum; three brothers-in-law through marriage: Henry Newman, Monaca; Robert (Karen) Newman, New Brighton; Harry (Janie) Newman, Fairview Park, OH; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends will be received Friday, August 16, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). His funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, in the funeral home with Pastor Thomas Kennedy, officiating. Private entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
