

Growing up Chris enjoyed going out on the boat with his grandma and grandpa water skiing. He also enjoyed playing ball with his family and friends. He joined the U.S. Army when he was 18. After leaving the Army, he moved to Vincennes, IN, where he lived for 3 years. In 2012 he reconnected with the person who turned out to be the love of his life, Erica; after which he moved back to Rockford in 2013.
He is survived by his fiancée, Erica Fetters; son, Landon; daughter, Elliette; father, Mike (Bertha) Thomas; mother, Michele Thomas; sisters, Stacy Nicholson and Maygan Thomas; grandparents, John and Margaret Washington; father-in-law, Tim (Julie) Fetters; mother-in-law, Sheri (Gary) Henson; sisters-in-law, Tina (Matt) Detterman, Katie Fetters, and Jordan Fetters; nieces, Alexis and Lily; nephews, Gage, Damien, Devon, and Jack; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ralph and Grace Ary; and a niece, Maliah.
A special thanks to Diana and Tim for all their hard work and support. A special thanks also to Rockford Memorial Hospital’s Adult Critical Care Unit on the first floor, for everything they did.
Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Avenue, Loves Park; with Father Christopher DiTomo officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Online condolences may be submitted at advantagerockford.com
