Cora was born on January 9, 1930 in Custer, S.D., the daughter of Eva and Virgil Branscomb. She married Donald Smith on February 28, 1964 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2008.
Cora is survived by her daughters: Carol (Tim) Stone, Louise (Jim) Olson and Kathryn (Ron) Heitman; son-in-law Cliff; grandchildren, great-granchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters Christine and Mary; brother Charles and brother-in-law Larry.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Johnny and Wesley, daughter Shirley, brother Donald and two sisters Dorothy and Inez.
A service to celebrate Cora’s life will be 2:00 p.m. Monday October 21, 2013 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St. in Rockford. Visitation for Cora will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park.
