

Curtis W. Palmer, age 43, of Leaf River, Illinois passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Curt was born in Rockford, Illinois on November 7, 1981 to Jackie Henry and Gregory Butler. Curt grew up in Byron and Stillman Valley, with his family. Curt had a love for engines which was displayed by his passion for Race Car Driving, four wheeling, snowmobiling and fixing vehicles. Curt could always be found racing at Sycamore Speedway in his car numbered 48C. Curt loved to experience life, one way he did that was by bull riding for 3 years in Florida. Anyone who didn't know Curt, shortly did after meeting him; Curt never met a stranger.
Curt is survived by his mother, Jackie Jacobson; sisters, Stephanie (Bob) Brown and Erin (the late Erik) Gorzynski; nieces and nephews, Eric, Tatum, Arabella, Grant, and Blake; grandparents, Morris and Myra Butler; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Butler; brother, Eric Palmer; grandparents, Margaret and Bob Henry and Merlin Roberts; uncles, Gary Butler, Ron Henry, John Messer, and John Miller; aunt, Brenda Coggins; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10am until the time of the memorial service at 12pm at Advantage Funeral Home (7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
