David Lee Hoover

David L. Hoover, 71, of Rockford, IL, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Temple, Texas. He was born April 15, 1950 in Rockford, IL, the son of Tracy and Clara (Archer) Hoover. Dave worked as a welder for many years. He was very proud to have worked as a welding contractor with the military in Afghanistan from 2009-2013. Dave enjoyed doing martial arts and had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was a patriotic man who was a friend to many around the world.

Dave is survived by his daughter, April (David) Cody; step-children, Jason Henthorn and Brooke LaPuma; grandson, Brandon Brisbane; siblings, Norma (Jerry) Round and Carolyn (Mark) Sornsin; nieces and nephews, Scott Round, Stephanie (Michael) Buehl, Michelle (Micah) Skaritka, Samantha Sornsin, Adam Sornsin; as well as one great-niece and four great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Floyd Hoover.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State St, Rockford, IL 61102. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115.
