Dennis E. Grow

Born February 22, 1944 to Lennard and Marion Grow of Rockford, IL, at Swedish American Hospital. Dennis graduated from Auburn High School in 1962. His class was the first class to graduate from the new school. He went on to an Apprenticeship for Tool and Die at JL Clark of Rockford. In 1974 he wed Jennifer Diane Watson and became a father to Wendy Ann. He worked in Tool and Die precision work for his entire career culminating in a co-ownership of the machining company Arrow Design, Inc. with his wife Jennifer. The business was sold in 2006 after which Dennis retired.

Dennis was an avid hobby enthusiast and loved building and flying radio controlled airplanes. Other interests include a love of quilting, all kinds of puzzles, and socializing with the couples many friends. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, visiting sights such as, Niagara Falls, DisneyWorld, Graceland, Las Vegas, Gulf Shores in Alabama and Sedona Arizona.

In more recent days he enjoyed more local activities such as his Friday Breakfast Club with Jim, Diane, Phyllis, Mary Lou, Sally and Angelo.

Dennis is survived by his wife Jennifer Grow, Daughter, Wendy (Vahap) Bozak, Honorary Son, Mark (Tammy) Tims, Mother Marion Grow, Brother Ronnie (Cheri) Davenport, Brother-in-Laws; Mike Watson, Johnny Clapp, & Melvin (Louisa) Clapp. Sister-in-law Betty Dant; numerous extended family of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and his two girls Kairra and Piper.

He is preceded by his father, Lennard Grow, Brother, David Grow, Mother-in-Law, Martha Clapp, and Sister-in-Law Lisa McCulcheon.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Dennis's life will be Friday March 3, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 West State St. in Rockford.
