Donald R. Ballard

Donald R. Ballard, 79, of Rockford, IL, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at River Bluff after a long illness. He was born March 6, 1942 in Rockford, the son of Adelbert M. and Faith (Packard) Ballard. Donald was the co-owner of North Central Radiator in Rockford for over 20 years. He enjoyed collecting penguins.

Donald is survived by his children, David (Becky) Ballard, Dennis (Yvette) Ballard, Dawn (Matt) Finnan, Doug Ballard, Donald Ballard and Jennifer Mandell; grandchildren, Daryl (Heather), Dylan (Angel), Devan, Dennis, Daniel, Shelbie, Andrew, Bruce (Karry), Joshua, Melissa, Elizabeth, Taylor, Hannah, Chloe, Donald (Lindsay), Rachel, Matt (Sydney) and Nicholas; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; brothers, Harold (Roberta) Ballard and Allan (Cookie) Ballard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Irene Ballard, son Darwin, grandchildren David, Pyper and Colin, special longtime companion, Jean Wescott.
