Don was a loving Father & Papa & was a genuinely “Sweet Man.” Don is remembered as being a wonderful listener, and a consistent source of support for his family and friends. He loved to spend time with his family. Don also enjoyed hunting, trapshooting, and his cabin up in Hayward, WI. He enjoyed his Model Railroad Trains and his dog, Rex. Don was a member of North Love Baptist Church and was a man of amazing faith.
Don is survived by his children; Cathy (Lance) Waters, Jenny (Danny) Keen, his sister, Rita Riedel, and grandchildren; Jessica, Cole, and Taylor & many nieces and nephews.
Don is predeceased by his wife, Carol, his son, Brian, his parents, Verner and Leone Carlson, and his sister, Linda.
Visitation is from 9am until the time of service at North Love Baptist Church 5301 E. Riverside, Rockford IL, 61114. A funeral service will be held at 11am. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
