

Dorothy “Dolly” Gall, 82, of Machesney Park, went home to her Heavenly Father surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Born on November 17, 1933 in Rockford, IL. Daughter of Harley and Lillian (Carlson) Welch. United in Marriage to Elbert Dene Gall on April 8, 1961. He would always say to his lovely bride “Love is like a Butterfly”. Together they raised six children. Family gatherings were a favorite pastime. He predeceased her on August 15, 2011.
She proudly obtained her CNA license at age 57 and had worked at various local nursing homes. She retired from Fairhaven Nursing Home as their Activity Director. Dolly enjoyed and exceled at crocheting having made bed spreads, dollies, and blankets. She enjoyed collecting Angels and porcelain dolls having collected so many, and her brittle bones, her daughter lovely called her their “Porcelain China Doll”. She had a passion for collecting recipes and watching cooking shows even sharing this joy with her great-granddaughter Alyssa. She loved to cook with different spices and even made a collection of recipes to share with her fellow Dialysis Friends. She loved reading the Guide Post and read about Amish people. Sitting outside watching the birds and smelling the flowers were a favorite pastime. The walls in her house were covered with the pictures of her inspiration in life which were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include children, Donna Morton, Dianna (Dee) Lynn, Sharon (James) Warren, Pat (Keith) Hale, Alan (Valerie) Harlacher; grandchildren, Shelley (Robert) Maestas, Joel Morton Jr., Angel (Daniel) Rutledge, Richard Hanson II, Deanna (Hairl) Cobb, Christina Hernandez, Tamara (David) Tidberg, Nathan (Alli) Hale, Corinne (Craig) Gruber, Jason (Allyson) Harlacher, Nicholas (Erin) Harlacher; great-grandchildren, Jordan Esposito, Robert Maestas Jr., Aron Maestas, Julian Maestas, MaKayla Rutledge, Zane Rutledge, Henry Rutledge, Angelyn Rutledge, William Cobb III, Jake Cobb, Kathleen Cobb, Holly Cobb, Hayley Cobb, Johnathan Cobb, Michael Cobb, Karissa Hernandez, Eli Hernandez, Alyssa Hernandez, Tayla Tidberg, Natasha Tidberg, Sophia Tidberg, Paige Gruber, Tyler Hale, Amy Hale, Willow Harlacher and Althea Harlacher on the way; siblings, Melvin (Dorie) Welch, Bruce (Gloria) Welch.
