Dorothy A Fiez

Dorothy A. Fiez, 94, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Born March 22, 1923 in Midway, KS. Daughter of George and Lavina (Hughes) Shreve. Dorothy was one of 12 children who eventually relocated to Rockford after graduation. She worked at Rockford Screw Products where she met Donald who would become her husband on June 28, 1944 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford. He predeceased her on December 1, 1969. She retired from Newell Scale Company where her days were spent stepping on and off scales all day. In her retirement years she drove for Septran as she liked to stay busy. She found great enjoyment in camping, watching her kids and then grandkids play softball, watching the Cubs and most of all anytime spent with her family.

Survived by her daughters, Lavina (Dick) Barr, Linda Wallin; grandchildren, Rick (Rachel) Barr, Jason (Jesica) Barr, Ben (D’Lynn) Barr, Don (Heather) Wallin, James Wallin, Amanda Wallin; great-grandchildren Nathan Barr, Brandon Barr, Kayanna Barr, Noah Barr, Madison Barr, Allison Barr, Caden Barr, Ahnika Barr, Hanna Wallin, Hope Wallin, Harleigh Wallin, Ethan Wallin, Tarran James; great-great-grandchildren, Pippa Barr, Kipling Barr; siblings Barb Tindell, Jerry Shreve, Ronnie Shreve, Donald Shreve; several nieces and nephews; her dog, Gizmo. Predeceased by her parents, spouse, Donald; siblings, Sally, Lavon, Tina, Corky, Annabelle, Charles, Shirley; son-in-law, Randy Wallin.
