

He was born December 7, 1931 the son of Leon and Naomi Lyle. He married Marilyn Hoffman, his wife of 62 years. Edward worked for Chrysler as an engine foreman for many years until he retired in 1987. He then worked for Burlington Air Freight for 15 years. Edward was an avid motorcycle enthusiast for over 62 years and belonged to various motorcycle clubs, he also enjoyed bicycling, snowmobiling, camping, hiking and canoeing, he also had a passion for guns and belonged to the Pine Tree Pistol Club.
Edward is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lyle and two daughters; Jacqueline (Marshal) Thompson and Ramona (Robert) Klein, six grandchildren; Lisa, Ellen, Steven, Susan, Sarah and Rachel and eleven Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Gregory Lyle.
Visitation will be held Thursday November 1, 2012 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services 7000 West State Street, Rockford, IL at 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Funeral services will take place the following day Friday November 2, 2012 also at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services at 11:00a.m. Interment will take place at Willwood Burial Park Rockford, IL.
