Gary A. Kohl

Gary Alvin Kohl 65 of Winnebago passed away on October 12, 2021 surrounded by family. Born September 29, 1956 in Rockford. Son of Alvin and Wilma (Mayberry) Kohl. United in marriage to Cindy M. (Gilberto) on February 15, 2015. Gary was a jack of all trades including working for many years at Nylint Toy

Company, Dean Foods, and Dickerson Nieman until God lead him down the path to selling cars at Affordable Autos then he branched out to becoming co-owner of First Autos then owner. Gary's true passion other than hot rods and riding his Harleys was music and ministry in which he became the worship leader and associate pastor at Pelly Road Christian Fellowship. Gary always made time to watch and attend Chicago Bears games with his sons. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and helping anyone he could.

Loved and missed by his wife Cindy; children Melissa, Nicholas (Jennifer), Jeramie (Victoria) and Anna Kohl; grandchildren Erica (Gabriel) Roman, Nathan, Haley Kohl, Kailey Bramble, Gabe, Cody, Elijah, Abel, and Oaklynn Kohl; sister Jeanne Griswold; including Gilberto children and grandchildren.

Predeceased by parents; sister Juanita McVey; and son Allen Victor.

A visitation for Gary will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Pelley Road Christian Fellowship, 3800 Pelley Road, Rockford, IL, followed by a service to celebrate Gary's life at 12:00 PM. Gary will be laid to rest in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, IL.
