James Ray Poe

James Ray Poe, 60, of Rockford, IL, passed away on August 31, 2022. He was born in Independence, MO on September 3, 1961 to James Robert Poe and Bessie (Fisher) Phillips. James enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors. He was an avid gardener and loved all animals, especially birds. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed coming up with all sorts of different meals. James was a wonderful handyman, he was always doing all types of jobs for people. James will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

James is survived by his sisters, Janet and Teresa Poe; his niece, Kayla Poshka; his half-sisters, Wendy and Vicki; his half-brother, Christopher; his step brothers, Larry and Mark; his step sister, Teresa Hacker; and numerous half and step nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert; his mother and step-father, Bessie (Bobby) Phillips; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his brother, Robert; his half-brother, James Robert; and his step brother, Donny.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Family will be planning a graveside service at a later date in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 W. State St., Rockford, IL 61102.
