Marilyn Jean Terry, 86, also known as “Jeannie” to those closest to her, passed away peacefully at her home in Winnebago, Illinois, surrounded by her family. Jeannie was born in Rockford, Illinois, to Ralph and Margaret Swanson on February 16, 1939. Jeannie was very hardworking, resilient, and found her job to be a hobby. She had a great fascination with owls, and collected many figurines throughout the years. She recently retired at the age of 83 after spending 60 years between North Health Care and Anderson Packaging (now known as P.C.I). Grandma Jeannie loved to feed her family, making many famous dishes such as biscuits and gravy, lasagna, zucchini bread, and fudge. She never missed a birthday, and you could count on getting a card that sang to you with a fresh lottery ticket. Holidays were important to Grandma Jeannie, and the grandchildren received various “snack packs” over the years.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Greg) Sneath, Robert Keeton, Richard Keeton, and Lisa (Kevin) Sandager; grandchildren, Nicole (Larry Airdo) Lee, Ryan Keeton, Michael (Danielle) Keeton, David Sandager, Kyle (Jenna Fairchild) Sneath, Kimber Keeton, Jordan (Nina Fricke) Sneath, and Amy (Lucas) Sandager-Enser; honorary grandson, Michael Lee; great-grandchildren, Dylan Lee, Hannah Lee, Evie Keeton, Marley McMullin, Ariel Keeton, Leighton Lamm, Soren Enser, Theodore Enser, and Everett Sneath.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margaret; brothers, Ralph Swanson and Ronald Swanson.
