Paul E. Lawson, 84, of Rockford, passed away on September 12, 2012. Born on June 14, 1928 in Rockford, he was the son of the late Nathan and Fern (Bryant) Lawson. He married Barbara L. Hartje on January 3, 1948 in Rockford.
A graduate of West High School, Paul retired from Pabst Blue Ribbon Distributors of Rockford in 1984.
Paul enjoyed bowling and watching sports. He also loved sitting on his swing, overseeing the neighborhood and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His survivors include his children, Carolyn (Rex) Pepper, Barbara Elder, Carla (Rick) Schultz, and Craig (Paula) Lawson; grandchildren, Renee, Lori (Brad), Andy (Angie), Steven, Becca, David, Danny, Barbi, Brian, Megan, and Eric; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Amber, Skyler, Madison, Brayden, Taylor, and Teagan, sister-in-law, Gloria Lawson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents; daughter, Paula Lawson; brothers, Donald and Emmit Lawson; sister, Eloise Lawson; son-in-law, Lonnie Elder; and special friend, Anne Johnson.
