Peggie Ann Brooks, age 85, of Loves Park, Illinois passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Peggie was born October 6, 1939 in Wilson, Arkansas, the daughter of Church and Vera (Hicks) Jackson. She came to the Rockford area in the 1960's. She met Junior E. Brooks while working and they were married June 3, 1967. Peggie was employed at National Lock in Rockford until retirement. She enjoyed sewing and crafting. Peggie loved shopping. She kept an immaculate home and enjoyed making a home cooked meal for the family in her younger years. Most of all, Peggie loved spending time with her family.
Peggie is loved and missed by her husband, Junior E. Brooks; children, Liz (Richard) Koogler of Missouri, Laurie (Daniel) Dockter, Cynthia Gill-Dusek, Hank (Susan) Gill, all of Illinois; step-son, Duane Brooks of Nevada; sister-in-law, Margaret Jackson of Illinois; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; dear friend and cousin, Libby Owens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Jean and Dalpha, two brothers, Jerry and Julius; step-daughter, Pamela Ahmer and son-in-law, Jay Dusek.
