Robert “Bob” D. Weers was called to his eternal home Saturday, February 24, 2018 with his beloved wife by his side. He was born December 3, 1941 in Streator, IL. Son to Albert and Gladys (Schneider) Weers. Bob married Brenda Holbrook on October 10, 1970 and had two children, Susan and Robert J (Shelly), both of Rockford. They survive. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty (Rolland) Clevenger and Carolyn (Harry) Dent; a brother, Elmer (Linda); six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lillian Dorff, Eva Schoon, Dorothy Smith, and Marilyn Staple; and brothers, Donald, Ray, Fred, Virgil, and one in infancy. Bob attended Flanagan high school and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam during the war. Bob worked at Chrysler in Belvidere for over 30 years until his retirement. Bob enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Robert's name to your favorite local Food Pantry. Per family wishes Cremation Rites have been accorded.
