

ROCKFORD, IL. Thomas J. Cree, 87, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born November 25, 1927 in OKA Quebec, Canada to William and Mary (Nelson). He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Oka Band of Mohawk Indians Oka Lake of Two Mountains Canada Tribe. He married Florence Poupart and together shared 55 years while raising their 5 children. Tom was an avid Bowler and passed on his passion to his children who are entered into the Hall of Fame. He also loved to Golf and shared that joy with his sons and son-in-law. Tom was a Packers and Tigers fan. In the summer he loved tending to his vegetable garden, generously sharing his harvest with family and friends. The times he enjoyed most were the backyard barbeques with his family, the playful times with his grandchildren and the companionship of his cat “Cody”.
Survivors: wife, Florence; children, Karen (David) Cree-Neuliep, Thomas Jr. William, Michelle (John) Timmons, Michael (Amy) Cree; grandchildren, Thomas Cree III, Bryce and Brady Timmons and Carson Cree. Predeceased by parents; four sisters; one brother.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. at Advantage Funeral home 7000 W. State St. Rockford, Il. Visitation: 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial immediately following at Scandinavian cemetery.
