Wanda Elaine Becker

ROCKFORD, IL. Wanda E. Becker, 89, died Sunday, July 12, 2015. Born in Rockford, Il ( where she lived her entire life) on June 29, 1926 to Jasper and Alice (Friday) Boken. She married Joseph L. Becker on September 16, 1947 at St. Johns Church in Freeport. He preceded her in death on July 1992. She worked at Amerock for over 20 years and Barber Coleman. She was a member of the Moose Club. Wanda loved bowling and cards. The name of the game was cards,cards,cards especially with all her friends. When the kids were young she enjoyed traveling; later, taking plane rides to Arkansas to see her son and driving to Janesville to see her daughter for the weekend. She was an avid CUBS, BEARS and BULLS fan. She found great comfort in cooking and surrounding herself with family.

Survivors: children, Lois (Ron) Kallestad, Eugene (Atishia) Becker; grandchildren, Melisa, Chris, and Paula; great-grandchildren, Anna, Shawn and Joey; sisters, Donna (Gene) Turner, Marda (Denny) Enyart, Linda (Irvin) Woodruff; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband and one sister.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State St. Rockford, Il. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial in Willwood Park. Luncheon at Loves Park VFW. Memorials may be made to the family. To express condolences, visit wwwadvantagerockford.com.
