Wanda J. Sparks, 79, of Rockford, passed away May 15, 2021. She was born on September 21, of 1941. Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a contagious sense of humor and always fun to be around. She was generous with her time and support, and she was always there for those she loved. Wanda enjoyed cracking open a cold beer and trying her luck at the casino. Her grandchildren were her world. She will be remembered for her quick wit, devotion to her family, and open heart to those loved.
She is survived by her husband; John, children; Debbie (Danny) Williams, Mike Northrup, Dennis (Tricia) Northrup, Diana (Jeff) Doolan, and Crystle (Daniel) Sparks, sister; Norma Chapmen, her stepchildren, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her son; James Northrup, her brother “Junior” as well as her parents.
A funeral service for Wanda is scheduled for Thursday, May 20th at 11am at Kishwaukee Baptist Church, located at 2742 9th St, Rockford, IL 61108. A visitation will be held at 10am until the time of service. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
