Helen Chase Elward

She was born in Three Rivers, Canada on December 10, 1925 a daughter of Winfield W. and Myra L. (Morong) Chase.

Helen was educated in Livermore Falls schools and was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School Class of 1943. After high school she was employed for 5 years as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company.

Helen met the love of her life John Elward at a dance in Rumford, they were married on September 25, 1948; they celebrated 55 years together; he passed away in 2003.

She was an active member of Dixfield Congregational Church and was very involved in Bible Studies and the prayer shawl ministries.

Helen loved reading, knitting, crocheting and doing word search puzzles.

Surviving are her children, Beverly Glover and husband Peter of Dixfield, and Peter Elward of Rumford; two grandchildren, Samantha Noyes and husband Christopher and Shad Glover; and ten great grandchildren, Dakota Brown, Mason Ericson, Alexis Noyes, Gabrielle Johnson and husband Nate, Joshua Glover, Olivia Noyes, Emma Glover, Delaney Glover, Jacob Glover and Katrina Glover.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, a son John, a brother Richard Chase and a granddaughter Tammy Ericson.
