

He was born in Rumford, Maine on February 16, 1927 a son of John R. and Rose M. (Paradis) Burns.
Rae was educated in Mexico schools.
He proudly served his country during WW11 in the U.S. Navy in C Company Platoon 4.
Rae retired from Boise Cascade as Maintenance Supervisor, after 40 years of employment and was a member of their 25 and 40 year clubs.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, his trips to Roxbury Pond, and four wheeling with his brother Cecil.
Rae could often be found tinkering in his garage. He would tackle any job, never wanting any help, but would be the first one to help someone else with a project.
He was well known for having one of the sportiest and cleanest cars in town.
Rae was an avid Red Sox, Patriot’s, and Nascar fan, he especially liked Dale Earnhardt.
Surviving is his wife Lillian Burns of Dixfield, children; Mark Burns and wife Pauline of Gray, Maine, Marcia LaPierre and husband Craig of Gorham, Maine, Maryann Burns of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, grandchildren; Nathan Burns, Megan McDevitt and husband Brendhan, Corey Burns and wife Amanda, Courtney Grater and husband Patick, Taylor LaPierre, and Spencer LaPierre, great grandchildren; Deacon McDevitt, Hattie McDevitt, a special niece Jolene Lovejoy, many other nieces and nephews, a sister in law Geraldine Burns of Rumford, and a brother in law John Volkernick Sr. and wife Jean of Rumford, and special family friend Terri Bellmore of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Virginia Gaudet, and five brothers; Maxwell Burns, George Burns, Harry Burns, Fr. T. Lee Burns, and Cecil Burns.
