

He was born in Mexico Maine on May 28, 1930 a son of Hyacinthe and Delia (Therriault) Cote.
Leonard was educated in Rumford and Mexico schools and was a graduate of Stephen’s High School Class of 1948.
He proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post # 24.
Leonard was employed at Oxford Paper Co for 39 ½ years and was a member of the 25 year club.
He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior.
Leonard was a skilled woodworker having built his own home and garages and additions for several local families.
He loved watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Leonard was a die-hard Chevrolet enthusiast.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who loved going to all of his grandsons sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Jean “Midge” (Richard) Cote of Rumford; his children, Kenneth Cote and Companion Lisa of Poland, Richard Cote and wife Wanda of Rumford, and John Cote of Mexico; a brother, Gerald “Jerry” Cote of Rumford Point; grandson, Dickie Cote and wife Kimberly of Salem, NH; and two great grandchildren, Callie and Cameron Cote.
He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, Gloria Nadeau, Lorraine Soule and Merise Cornish; and six brothers, Norman, Wilbur, Raymond, Robert, Charlie and Ernest.
