She was born in St. Come, Quebec on October 9, 1936 one of 19 children to Wilfred and Delima (Dumas) Caouette.
Rejane came to this country at the age 20 and learned to speak English by watching TV, doing puzzles, going to beano and raising the Morrissette children as a nanny.
She married Roger Bernard on March 21, 1970. Following the death of her husband in 1979, she worked for Blaisdell’s and Carlisle’s for decades,
Her passion in life was sewing and she owned and operated Rejane’s Alterations for over 40 years, making many friends along the way.
Rejane also loved doing puzzles, bowling, watching TV, and spending time with her grandson Jared.
Rejane was a 17-year breast cancer survivor.
Surviving are her son, Daniel Bernard and wife Colleen of Peru; a brother, Henri Caouette and wife Elizabeth Poulin of Quebec; a grandson Jared Roger Bernard; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Roger, a sister Rose-Annette Caouette, and 16 other siblings.
