He was born in Rumford, Maine on December 16, 1949 a son of Sherwood and Marguerite (Smart) Newton.
Terry was an avid hunter and trapper and was a lifelong member of the NRA and MTA.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Barbara Newton of Detroit; children, Rebecca Newton of Rumford, Thomas Bartlett and wife Vanessa of Ocala, FL, Amy Newton and husband Shane Amoroso of Peru, Faxon McLaughlin of Detroit, and Breanna Goewey and husband Revlin of St. Albans; sister, Gail Newton and companion Wayne Orr of New Gloucester; brothers, Wayne Newton and wife Susan of MA, Dennis Newton and wife Jane of Peru, and Sonny Newton and wife Terri of Crystal River, FL; seven grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents.
