Rumford, ME - Thomas Patrick Bordeau Senior was 63 years old when he passed away peacefully at his residence in Rumford on January 5th, 2026. He was born December 9th, 1962, in Rumford, Maine, son of Arthur Edgar Bordeau, and mother, Mary Margaret Myrick.
He graduated from Mexico High School in 1982. He worked various jobs after high school but spent the past 30 years working as a Non-Destructive Technician before retiring in 2023. He traveled all over the United States for work from Florida to Washington state. He knew all the major highways by memory and could navigate anywhere on the east coast with ease. He told many stories of his time on the road - his favorites were when the job was finished so he could come home to his family.
He loved to take the long way home no matter where he was headed, eat at his favorite local spots, and always appreciated the time spent with his family and friends. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed any Chevrolet with a V8. Whether it was tinkering, repairing, or modifying, he always had his next project lined up. Classic rock and roll was playing when he was behind the wheel. He was a patriot who loved his country and freedom, and his God given rights. He was a fierce supporter of our first and second amendments. He was known for his optimistic outlook on life and his kind words of encouragement when you needed to hear them the most. His warm smile and gentle presence had a way of making the world just a little brighter.
He is predeceased by his parents Arthur Bordeau and Margaret Bordeau. He is survived by his children, Thomas Bordeau Jr. and his wife Jessi Bordeau, of Windham, Jean-Luc Bordeau of Rumford, and Jessica Bordeau of Bowdoin. He is survived by his four siblings, Rene Myrick-Parsons and her husband Michael Parsons of Rumford, Maine, Paula Wyman and her husband Jerry Wyman of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Brothers Joe Bordeau of Rumford, and Mike Bordeau of Mexico. He is survived by his nephews Dan, Eric, and Frank, as well as his nieces Robyn, Chelsea, Zoey, and Abbie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10 am - 12 pm at Thibault Remembrance Center, 250 Penobscot St. Rumford, ME. Words of Remembrance will be shared at 12 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
