William E. “Bill” Murphy, 75, of Mexico passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. He was born August 28, 1946 in Rumford the son of Clement and Eileen (Butler) Murphy. Bill graduated from Stephens High School, class of 1965 and married Maryann Belanger December 28, 1968.
Bill owned and operated Murphy the Caterer for several years creating a reputation of providing tasty food with a friendly smile. He was also a life member of the Rumford Elks.
He is survived by his wife Maryann (Belanger) Murphy; two daughters Christine Arsenault & husband Wayne and Denise Davidson & husband Wayne; two step children Kelly Louvat & husband David and Keith Kennedy & companion Kim Patterson; grandchildren Alex Witas and Mariah Witas; a sister Barbara Belanger & husband Laurier; a brother-in-law Charles Day; several nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by his parents and sister-in-law Roberta Day.
Graveside services will be announced during the Spring of 2022.
