Rita C. Cunnien

Rita Cunnien, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 99, of Maplewood, Minnesota passed peacefully in her own home surrounded by her children on May 4, 2022. A gentle spirit, Rita was a non-judgmental listener who enriched our lives. Preceded in death by her parents John & Petrea Freiermuth, husband Robert and daughter Tracy. Rita will be deeply missed by her children: Patty (Russ) Sherer, Sandy (Rick) Balfanz, Tom, Claire (Gene); six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Presentation of Mary Catholic Church 1725 Kennard St, Maplewood, MN 55109, visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Special thanks to Hospice of the Midwest. Memorials preferred to Gladstone Meals on Wheels. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
