Barbara “Jean” Forbes, 82, of Hebron passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Coastal Hospice at The Lake. Born July 19, 1943, in Dundalk, MD she was the daughter of the late Raymond Nichols, Sr. and Grace Nichols and Louise Roswell Nichols Pruitt and Jack Pruitt.
Jean graduated from Mardela High School and became a seamstress working for Benjamins for many years. She later worked from home making many specialty items including a girdle for a horse. She loved cooking, her garden, and spending time with her family. Christmas was more than just a holiday for her. Her living room was decorated year-round. She was a member of the American Legion Post 237 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David Forbes; two daughters, Barbara Pusey and her husband, Wayne and Dawn Blevins and her husband, Richard; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Barnes and her husband, Shawn, Madison Blevins, and Nicholas Blevins; brother, Kenneth Nichols and his wife, Paula; and several nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond “Buddy” Nichols, Jr. and his wife, Grace; a sister, Marion “Cathy” Goslee and her husband, G.F. Goslee.
