Salisbury: Charlotte Smullen Hooker, 57, of Salisbury, MD went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born November 28, 1960 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Edna Smullen. She was raised by her late grandparents, Ashton and Elizabeth Young. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Edwin E. Hooker and three wonderful children, Janet Kenlon (Justin) of Austin, Tx, Vicki Talbot (Guy) of Salisbury, MD, and Douglas Hooker (Erica) of Salisbury, MD. She also leaves behind two awesome grandsons, Guy “Quint” and Jacob; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is also preceded in death by her two sisters, Elizabeth “Beth” Beauchamp and Edna “Jane” Bell; grandparents, Dewey and Hattie Smullen. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Salisbury, MD for over 30 years. She also was a member and Past Matron of Wicomico Chapter #91, Order of the Eastern Star. Charlotte attended Pocomoke High School graduating in 1978. She went on to earn her B.S. degree in Mathematics from Salisbury State College in 1982. In 2002, she completed her Masters of Education degree from Salisbury University. She taught Math and Computer Science at Wicomico High School for the past 20 years. In addition, she also taught at Faith Baptist School for two years prior to moving to Wicomico High School and taught part-time at Wor-Wic Community College. A visitation time with the family will be from 7:00-8:30 PM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 East Main Street, Salisbury, MD. A Service by the Matron of Wicomico Chapter #91, Order of the Eastern Star will be held at 7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. A Memorial Service to celebrate Charlotte’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior after the service. Charlotte requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 1514 Old Ocean City Rd, Salisbury, MD 21804.
