Esther was born and raised in Snow Hill, MD. She was one of 12 children born to the late Lawrence and Kate Beauchamp Godfrey. She married her dear husband Harvey L. Chase in the 1950’s, and they made their home in Salisbury. Together, they were blessed with their daughter Catherine.
Esther was also a lover of nature. She could often be found enjoying tending to her garden.
In addition to her late parents, Esther was preceded in death in 1984 by her husband Harvey; her son Robert "Wayne" Lewis this past February; and 8 of her siblings William, Sydney, Lawrence, and Randolph Godfrey, Mary Dickerson, Margaret Tarr, and Jean McFord. She is survived by her daughter Catherine C. Covington; her brothers Norman, Robert, and Donald Godfrey: 6 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Graveside Services and interment will take place at Springhill Memory Gardens at a date and time to be announced.
