James “Jim” Paul Marble, 86, of Siloam in Salisbury, MD passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026. Born May 6, 1939, on the Northside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Paul and Sarah Marble he later attended Kramer Junior and Anacostia High Schools in Washington, DC. Jim worked at Save More Gas Company, was an apprentice Meat Cutter at Green Belt Consumers and then worked at Safeway and Food Depot in Salisbury until his retirement in 2000. He took pride in his yard, garden, and flowers. He had a love for food and appreciated anything anyone brought him. He had the gift of gab and would talk to anyone from the grocery store to the doctor’s office. He enjoyed the company of many friends over the years who would stop by and visit. Every year he looked forward to the West Side muskrat dinners and Hebron Carnival oyster fritters. One of his greatest joys in previous years was rabbit hunting with his dad and he loved to go cat fishing any chance he had.
He is survived by his son, Paul; daughter, Vicky (JB Vance); brother-in-law, Harold (Tami Brown); granddaughters, Jennifer Mais, Ashley Webster, Brittney Webster (Marlon); great-grandchildren, Mckinley and Bryce Ritchey, Kolbie LeCates, Dwight Cannon, Jr., and Kameron and Jaden Wigfall. He is also survived by long-time friends, Danny Sherwood, Mack Pusey, Gary Wagner, Theodore Willing, Dale Williams, Kenny Williams, and a host of others. In addition to his parents and an infant brother he was predeceased by his ex-wife, Frances whom he took extraordinary care of, a grandson, Jacob Marble, brothers, Bernard, Richard, and George Hildebrand, and sister, Marian Malasky; and good friend, Russell Dubbs.
His strength, wisdom, conversation, and friendship will be missed by all that knew him.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery.
