

Salisbury: Josephine Mary Contino Williams passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Pacific Ave in Salisbury. She was born January 19, 1927 in York, PA. The daughter of Anthony and Carmella Contino. She was married December 1945 to Winfield Williams who preceded her in death in 2000. Josephine was a 1945 graduate of Wicomico High School. After graduation she worked at Colonial Grill in Salisbury, and then, as a secretary at Shore Appliance. Later, she and her husband owned a small restaurant on Isabella Street, Winfield’s. After selling that business she enjoyed working at the Pittsville School in the cafeteria until she retired. In 1958 Josephine was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was instrumental in helping many family members come to love Jehovah; becoming the second of six generations of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Josephine is survived by her sister Mary of Saxis, VA; her daughter, Rebecca Knorr of Salisbury; one son, George Williams and wife Penny of Trappe. She has four grandchildren, Michael Trivits, Susan Burget, Jeffrey Knorr, and Kerry Williams. Josephine also had 4 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter as well as several nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Fruitland, MD on Wednesday, December 6th at 6:00 pm.
