Judy was born on April 21,1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to Thomas and Elsie Knight. She grew up in Catonsville, MD, and attended the University of Maryland where she graduated with a Bachelor of Education. She also attended Johns Hopkins University for her Master’s equivalent degree.
Judy was a dedicated high school teacher of social studies for thirty years and continued as a consultant for four more years for Baltimore County Public Schools. She was a pioneer in establishing a Model Congress Program as well as the Mock Trial Program for high school students in Baltimore County. She retired in 2004 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being active in her community on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She was involved with the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) and the LPGA Amateur Golf Association Eastern Shore where she was President of the Eastern Shore chapter for two years. In addition, Judy was an Ambassador for the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra for several years. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Judy cherished time with her family, as well as friends.
Judy is survived by her husband Steve, daughter Jennifer Brower (Adam), and grandchildren Anna Brower, Tommy Brower, and Cici Brower, sisters, Diane Hey and Debra Knight, and many dear friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Knight.
A viewing and funeral service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Community Church at Ocean Pines, 11227 Racetrack Road, Berlin, MD. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The burial is immediately following the service at the Church cemetery.
