Lewis Carl Merryman, Jr., 94, passed away on Sunday, June 09, 2024 in Salisbury, Maryland. Lew was born in Venton, Somerset County, Maryland on August 4th, 1929 to the late Lewis Carl Merryman, Sr. and the late Juanita (Reese) Merryman. In addition to his parents, his sister Carlyn Merryman Myers, also precedes him in death.
A graveside gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Cemetery on Venton Road, Princess Anne, Maryland. The service will be led by Fr. Jon Mark of St. Thomas the Disciple Anglican Church in Salisbury.
Survivors include: his loving siblings - sister Judith Merryman Shafer of Baltimore, Maryland, and brother Robert Gwynn Merryman and wife Catherine of Berlin, Maryland; his son Jon Tyler Merryman and wife Kirsten of Catonsville, Maryland; grandchildren Aidan Reese Merryman of Sherman Oaks, California, and Olivia Joy Merryman of Ithaca, New York; and a dozen nieces and nephews.
Lew (Sonny) spent his life building and creating using the materials around him. Through the furniture, homes, and countless other projects he designed and built, he leaves behind a legacy of creativity and craftsmanship that will endure for many years to come.
