Loraine R Atkinson

Loraine R. Atkinson, 94, of Salisbury died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Delmar Nursing Home. Born in Cambridge she was the daughter of the late Levin Poole Richardson and Bessie Hasset Richardson. Mrs. Atkinson was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church for over 50 years, Happy Timers, and Koineans. She is survived by six children and their spouses, Patricia and Jim English of Salisbury, Gilbert and Wanda Atkinson of Prarie du Rocher, IL, Katherine “Kit” and Jerry Turner of Salisbury, Barbara Herman of Salisbury, Franklin and Debbie Atkinson of Waconia, MN, and Penny and George Williams of Trappe; twelve grandchildren, Josh English, Lauren Malone, Meg Williams, Kayla Brandt, Kim Causey, Kelly Price, Chris Pusey, Michael Pusey, Amy Webster, Jason Atkinson, Leah Atkinson, Kerry Williams; twenty-one great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Atkinson in 1989; grandson, Corey Atkinson; four brothers, and two sisters. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Parsons Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Atkinson to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 406 N. Division St., Salisbury, MD 21801.
