Marilea Taylor Simms

Marilea Taylor Simms, 72, of Eden passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. Born May 19, 1949 in Salisbury she was the daughter of the late Bertram and Dorothy Taylor.

She loved to fish, crab, and bowled on a duckpin league for many years. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed going camping. She helped formed the original Allen Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael Simms; three daughters, Debbi Maldve and her husband Andy, Trish Patterson and her husband Scott, and Jenny Jaquith and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Christopher Simms (Nicole), Tyler Maldve (Sky), Rachel Schrider (Jack), Kelsi Maldve (Trevor), Hunter Simms, Christian Patterson, Jayden Patterson, and Logan Patterson; five great-grandchildren; and three sister-in-laws. She was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter, Ashlie Simms, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mason and Murrell Simms.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
