Marlene B. Truitt

Barbara Marlene Truitt, 77, of Delmar, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at her home with her family. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Purcell Burns. Marlene worked for R.D. Grier & Sons as a purchasing Agent. After retirement, she and her husband Basil worked together in the lawn care business. Along with Basil, she was very active in the Boy Scouts, VFW Post 10159, and the American Legion Post 64. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa See and her husband Bill; son, David N. Medley, II; grandchildren, Roger Joudrey, II and his fiancée Lisa Roth, Brandon Joudrey and his wife Katie and their daughter Alexa, Kim Medley, and Kelly Scarborough and her husband Eric; and two stepchildren, Basil E. Truitt, Jr. and Donald Truitt. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Loretta Joudrey. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday at 11a.m. at Parsons Cemetery on Division Street in Salisbury.
